The majority of my practice explores the materiality of photography, often through embracing abstraction and referencing natural forms. Currently, my work utilises found imagery and collage as a sustainable response to environmental issues surrounding the climate crisis.

The distinctive geology of Iceland has enabled the island to become a paragon of renewable energy. When existing in such expansive, dramatic surroundings, the inclination to revere and protect them is strong. In this piece, images from an issue of The Reykjavík Grapevine have been repurposed to create a deconstructed suggestion of a landscape.

Human migration and connection are at the core of this photographic collage. Developments in modern living allows us to cultivate relationships with people all around the globe, despite the landmasses that may separate us.
2023 - ONGOING
How many forgotten images exist? These collages are made using photographic prints that my students have accidentally left in the classroom. Through isolating areas of texture and negative space, the photographs have been reworked into imagery very separate to their original intentions.

Mudlarking is the act of scavenging riverbanks, particularly the River Thames, for items of value. Here, each of my finds have been fixed in place using a similar approach to setting gemstones on jewellery. This is designed to encourage thoughts around the worth we give to certain objects over others.
2023
This sequential set of four photographic collages depicts the breaking apart and coming together of two forms. Representing a pair of ‘figures’, these transitioning forms conclude with an embrace. Their abstract nature allows the viewer to reflect on a varied range of relationship dynamics they may have experienced.
